Georgia Automatic Merchandising Council To Host First Annual Legislative Event At Georgia State Capitol Next Month

Jan. 19, 2015

(CHICAGO) January 19, 2015 – The Georgia Automatic Merchandising Council (GAMC) is preparing to host its first annual GAMC Lobby Day on February 10, 2015 at the Georgia State Capitol in Atlanta.

GAMC Board members are expecting to interface with the state’s legislators to educate and inform them about the industry and its contributions to the state’s economy. The GAMC members will also be providing product samples to more than 180 legislators and staff.

“We hope that this legislative event will become the standard for GAMC by serving the dual-purpose of showcasing our industry and providing a key opportunity to educate our elected officials on our efforts,” said GAMC President, Kimble Carter. “Its success will be a testament to the vision of the GAMC Board and members to ensure that our industry remains on the radar of our key decision-makers,” he continued.

“GAMC is committed to its plan to influence policies benefiting business in Georgia, which is why this event will be an important part of GAMC’s legislative activities,” said Sheree Edwards, NAMA Legislative Director. “Going forward, all of our efforts will involve identifying opportunities to build relationships and promote our message with elected officials,” she continued.

Andrew Long, GAMC’s Lobbyist, echoed Edwards’ sentiment. “This group is uniquely positioned to capture the attention of our legislators at the Capitol because of the multifaceted nature of the industry,” he said.

“The businesses that comprise GAMC provide valuable revenue and human capital to our state’s economy that legislators are committed to protecting. With the sustained vision of GAMC’s leadership and dedication of its members, I am confident that we will keep pushing toward that goal,” Long concluded.
