The Chicago City Council approved a plan to raise the city’s minimum wage to $13 per hour by 2019, according to the Chicago Tribune. In a 44 to 5 vote, the approval will raise the city’s minimum wage to $10 per hour in July 2015 and continue to increase by 50 cents in July of 2016 and 2017. The minimum wage will then increase $1 in July of 2018 and 2019 to reach $13 per hour. Full article.
