Canteen’s Mid South Division Wins 2014 Five Jewel Award For Best Practices In Diversity And Inclusion

Sept. 17, 2014

Compass Group honored Canteen’s Mid South Division with a 2014 Five Jewel Award for Best Practices in Diversity and Inclusion, according to Canteen’s Website. The source notes that the award recognizes associates who practice diversity and inclusion by creating an environment of respect and a connection to each other, clients and the community. The Mid South team received the award for their work with Camp SOAR (Special Olympics Athletic Retreat). During the summer, Canteen’s Mid South Division supported Camp SOAR, a weeklong camp for over 300 children and adults with disabilities, by delivering fresh lunches, snacks and drinks for the camp daily. Many associates spent time volunteering throughout the week as well.

By winning the sector award, the Mid South team is now eligible for the chance to win the President’s Five Jewel Award for all of North America, which will be awarded next month.
