Power Affects Payment Systems – CPI Blog

In its weekly blog series, CPI recommends several basic rules when powering and installing vending machines and payment systems. The company first advises operators to know the minimum power requirements of each vending machine, in addition to using a surge protector or electrical noise filter if the machine is located in an industrial area where electrical noise or interference could be a problem. Among several other recommendations, CPI also warns technicians and drivers to never disconnect or connect payment systems while the machine is powered on, as that creates stress on the vending machine controller’s power supply.
