U-Vend Signs Agreement To Become Exclusive Self-Serve Merchandiser Of "Arthur's Smoothies" Throughout Canada

SANTA MONICA, CA--(Marketwired - Aug 12, 2014) - - August 12, 2014 - U-Vend, Inc. (PINKSHEETS: UVND) (the "Company"), a consumer products and technology company that develops, distributes and markets various next-generation self-serve electronic kiosks in a variety of locations including grocery stores, drug stores, mass merchants, malls, and other retail environments across North America, announced today that they have exclusive rights for the distribution and sale of "Arthur's Smoothies" in self-serve merchandising units throughout Canada.

Paul Neelin, founder and COO of U-Vend, Inc., stated: "Our new relationship with the all-natural Arthur's Smoothies brand provides U-Vend with a tremendous opportunity, in particular, to have secured the exclusive right for the introduction of Arthur's branded self-serve kiosks and merchandisers in the Canadian market. This agreement allows U-Vend the prospect of placing the Arthur's Smoothies kiosks and merchandisers in the hundreds of high-volume big box stores, sporting facilities, shopping malls, convenience stores, cafeterias and airports located throughout Canada."

The Arthur's Smoothies self-serve kiosks can be fully-managed remotely, allowing kiosk operators the ability to go online and check sales, bank deposits, inventory controls, change advertisements and promotions on the digital screen, and reorder new stock around the clock, from anywhere, anytime.

Utilizing its "soft roll-out" strategy, U-Vend will be installing its first set of kiosks in the Ontario, Canada region, with a stated goal of positioning additional kiosks in strategic, high-traffic areas throughout Canada over the next several months.

"The kiosks will also have our UV Digital screen displaying the complete line of Arthur's products available, nutritional information, new location openings, and information on how interested distributors can become an Arthur's kiosk owner/operator," added Neelin.

The Arthur's branded merchandiser will be a self-serve, glass-top refrigerated appliance that will be placed into cafeterias, convenience stores, and grocery stores, all of whose inventory and fulfillment will be managed by U-Vend.

"We are very pleased to have established a partnership with U-Vend and look forward to working with Paul and his team in building out the presence and availability of our Arthur's Smoothies products across Canada," stated Jennifer Rodrigues, Sales Manager for the Arthur's brand.

Recently, lawmakers in both the US and Canada have placed calorie restrictions on vending products being served in school programs starting in 2014. U-Vend and Arthur's are well below the calorie restrictions and are well suited for school programs seeking better for you options for students and staff.
