Study Finds Chicagoans Prefer Healthy Food In Vending Machines

A study done by Northwestern University found that 90 percent of Chicago, IL park-goers are satisfied with healthy-only options in vending machines, according to the Chicago Tribune. The source noted that healthier snacks increased the average monthly per-machine sales from $84 to $371 in one year across the Chicago Park District.

Northwestern University began researching consumers at Chicago parks after the park district’s 2011 initiative was announced. The Chicago Park District signed a 5-year contract with Compass Group USA. Full article.
