Massachusetts Governor Approves $11 Minimum Wage Hike

Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick signed a law that would raise the state’s minimum wage from $8 per hour to $11 per hour by 2017, according to Boston Herald. Officials in the state believe the new law would affect 600,000 minimum wage workers along with tipped workers. The first increase will take place on Jan. 1, 2015 to $9 per hour followed by $10 an hour on Jan. 1, 2016. Full article.
