Correction: J. M. Smucker Co. Expands Facility In Virginia For Storage And Growth, Not Partnering With Massimo

May 13, 2014

Yesterday, VendingMarketWatch incorrectly reported that the expansion of the J.M. Smucker Co. liquid coffee processing facility in Suffolk, Va. would produce Massimo Zanetti coffee pods. Massimo Zanetti is producing single-serve coffee at its own facility in Suffolk, Va.

For J.M. Smucker, the $4 million investment will enable it to receive additional Folgers ® whole-roasted coffee blends in “super sacks”. This investment includes $1 million in advanced warehousing and processing equipment. In addition, this expansion is an integral part of Smucker’s business continuity plan. The added warehouse space will also allow for more storage of raw materials and support future growth opportunities. “We are committed to providing a welcoming environment for business and business expansion,” said Suffolk Mayor Linda T. Johnson in a prepared statement. “We are delighted that our friends at J. M. Smucker have chosen our city to expand their advanced beverage processing operations.”
