The vending data interchange (VDI) task force, a group of NAMA members working to create technology standards within the industry, is focusing on data integration in 2014, according to an update given at the NAMA OneShow that took place April 9 to 11 in Chicago, Ill. Glenn Butler, CEO of CTO Services, reported that the committee is working on VDI cashless reconciliation, vending management system (VMS) and micro market integration, VDI alerts and device to server integration as well as better systems for sharing master file information.
Butler also announced that the “Digital Media Working Group” is discussing standards in digital media integrating with vending machines and micro market kiosks.
