Internet Disruptions Expected As Companies Scramble To Fix Encryption Systems

Companies will be working on repairing encryption systems on hundreds of thousands of Websites to counter the Heartbleed bug, causing disruptions in the Internet, according to the Washington Post. The Heartbleed bug allows hackers to easily steal consumers’ user names, passwords, credit card information and social security numbers through a gap in the encryption technology used by businesses to protect consumer data. Experts are suggesting that all affected sites revoke their security certificates and issue new ones. Full article.
