Randy Smith, president/CEO of LightSpeed Automation in Alpharetta, Ga., was named Allied Member of the Year - Vending as part of the association’s 2014 Industry Awards. Smith will be presented his award on April 10 at the 2014 NAMA OneShow in Chicago, Ill.
The NAMA Allied Member of the Year - Vending award recognizes an individual and their company who has exhibited the highest level of integrity, dedication and leadership in the vending industry. Candidates must also have developed and implemented practices to address nutrition issues, ideally in schools and business institutions. The recipient of this award must excel in all areas of business and show leadership within the community.
Since 2008, Smith has served as the president/CEO of LightSpeed Automation in Alpharetta, Ga. LightSpeed Automation develops, installs and supports new technologies used to increase operational efficiencies across multiple business verticals. LightSpeed Automation supports over 200 systems and operates in four countries. Prior to leading LightSpeed Automation, Smith was the president/CEO of Georgia Vending Services, a full service vending company in Atlanta, from 1996 until 2008.
Smith is also the co-founder of The Axios Group, a team of Atlanta, Ga.-based business executives encouraging others to be accountable to faith-based business principals.
Currently, Smith is a member of NAMA’s board of directors and the association’s strategic planning committee. He has held the following industry leadership positions: former president of the Georgia Automatic Merchandising Council and former chairman of the Southeastern Vending Association (SEVA).
