Study: Single-Serve Packs Could Help People Eat Less

A small-scale study published in the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics found that single-serve packaged foods could help overweight people eat less, according to Reuters. In the study conducted by Hollie Raynor in the Department of Nutrition at the University of Tennessee located in Knoxville, Tenn., 64 participants of varying weight were given either 20 single-serve bags of  pretzels at one ounce each or two standard-size bags of pretzels at ten ounces each. The research found that those who were overweight and had the single-serve bags of pretzels ate 107 grams, compared to those who were healthy weight who ate 158 grams. Full article.
