Tri-State Automatic Merchandising Council Hosts 2014 Annual Legislative Day At Pennsylvania Capitol

March 21, 2014

The Tri-State Automatic Merchandising Council (Tri-State) hosted its 2014 Annual Legislative Day at the Capitol in Harrisburg, Penn., on Wednesday, March 19. The Tri-State Council represents industry members in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

This year’s event featured display tables in the East Rotunda that showcased snacks and candy products manufactured in the state of Pennsylvania, as well as a number of “better for you” items. Tri-State members engaged legislators, staff and visitors who stopped by the tables to ask questions about the industry’s legislative issues, initiatives and product offerings. The attendees then delivered customized “Tri-State snack bags” to the offices of more than 250 legislators. Members were also briefed by Tri-State lobbyist David Tive.

“Tri-State is an organization that understands that consistent outreach is a valuable tool to engage elected officials,” said Susan McManus, president of the Tri-State Council in a prepared statement. “That is why we look forward to continuing to promote the industry during these annual events. We want our legislators to know the value that our members contribute to the local economy in the form of jobs, industry and growth.”

NAMA’s Legislative Director Sheree Edwards echoed McManus’ praise of the event. “NAMA was delighted to participate in Tri-State’s Legislative Day, as we want to continue to do our part to support the council,” Edwards said. “The Tri-State group’s commitment to grassroots advocacy is a direct benefit not only to the state association but to the industry overall,” she concluded.
