California City Moves To Create Highest Minimum Wage Statewide

The Richmond, Calif. city council voted 6-1 to pass the first reading of an ordinance that would raise the city’s minimum wage from $8.00 to $12.30 per hour, the highest in California, according to San Jose Mercury News. The ordinance will come back for a second reading next month. California’s minimum wage is already set to rise to $10.00 per hour by January 2016. Full article
