Eurotech, a leading supplier of embedded technologies, products and systems, announces AirVend has issued a $3 million purchase order for hardware to power an interactive vending touchscreen solution called the AV 7. AirVend is ramping up production of the innovative device that enables compliance with pending calorie disclosure regulations, accepts cashless payment and provides real-time monitoring data. The Eurotech systems will be delivered to AirVend in 2014.

“We chose Eurotech to power the AV 7 because their systems are extremely reliable and built for a long lifecycle in the field,” said Chad Francis, CEO of AirVend, in a prepared statement. “In addition, Eurotech has extensive experience in wireless connectivity and can help us get to market very quickly to meet customer demand.”

The AirVend AV 7 connects wirelessly via Wifi or cellular to AV Live, a cloud-based system providing real-time sales data, machine alerts, inventory tracking and more.

“Eurotech’s complete hardware solution allows AirVend to take their product to market quickly with a product that vending machine operators demand now,” said Greg Nicoloso, CEO of Eurotech in North America.  “They needed a rugged, reliable solution that can connect seamlessly to backend systems and provide valuable monitoring information. The result is a high performance product that will help vending machine operators comply with regulations with the additional ability to offer cutting edge options and services for customers in the future.”
