March 14, 2014

The Arkansas Vending Council (AVC) hosted its 2014 annual convention in Hot Springs, Ark. The convention included the AVC’s annual board meeting followed by a presentation from U.S. Representative Tom Cotton (R-Ark.).

Rep. Cotton, currently running for U.S. Senate, addressed a number of issues faced by Congress, including taxes, regulatory reform, health care and the economy. He then discussed his campaign agenda for the Senate race and engaged in a question and answer session.

AVC lobbyists Bruce Hawkins and Camie Boggess of DBH Consulting provided a state legislative update while NAMA Legislative Director Sheree Edwards discussed NAMA’s national efforts.

AVC President Bill Tervin said he was pleased with the convention. “AVC’s annual convention provides us with an opportunity to share business and industry issues in a collegial setting,” Tervin said in a prepared statement.

“We are focused on strengthening AVC’s presence in Arkansas through a goal-oriented legislative agenda and relationship-building with our elected officials,” he continued. “We were honored to host Rep. Cotton and discuss legislative issues, business concerns and our positive contributions to Arkansas’ economy.”
