San Francisco Puts Soda Tax On November Ballot

Five members of the San Francisco, Calif. board of supervisors have acted to put a two-cent per ounce tax on sodas and sugary beverages on the November ballot, according to the Los Angeles Times. Supporters believe the tax will produce around $31 million annually from the “unified soda tax measure” that would go towards school nutrition, health and physical activity programs. Full article.
