Slidered, sealed and delivered, the White Castle Original Slider® was named Time magazine’s most influential burger ever in a recent poll of hamburger historians. White Castle, the family-owned business with more than 90 years in operation, surpassed 16 other influential burgers on the list to take the number one spot.

For the article, which notes that the success of the Slider “paved the way for the great American burger obsession,” Time interviewed burger historians and experts to determine which burgers had the biggest effect on the industry.
