College Students Invest In Vending Machines

The Boston, Mass. “Dorm Room Fund” group, made up of 11 college students, has invested $20,000 in Refresh Water Technologies, according to the Boston Globe. Refresh Water Technologies is a startup company formed to create environmentally-friendly vending machines. The Refresh machines hold empty, collapsed bottles that can be expanded and filled with filtered water or sodas. The machines hold 1,000 collapsed bottles that do not need refrigeration. The Dorm Room program was launched by First Round Capital in Philadelphia, Pa. in 2012 and has expanded to several other U.S. cities. Full article.
