NAMA reported the success of its 13th annual Executive Development Program (EDP). The program, held late last month, was taught by a distinguished group of Michigan State University faculty in East Lansing, Mich. Guest speakers with valuable experience from the vending, coffee service and foodservice management industries were featured.

According to Joann DeNardis, NAMA’s director of education/certification, EDP attendees gave the program an overall rating of 4.86 on a scale of 1 to 5. Coca-Cola, Canteen, Vistar, Green Mountain Coffee Roasters and G & J Marketing and Sales, among other companies, sent employees to the EDP.

“The goal for this program was for attendees to learn to grow revenue, develop new marketing plans, think strategically and enhance their personal leadership,” said DeNardis, in a prepared statement. “I feel confident they accomplished this and will return to their respective roles as even better leaders than they already were.”

The Executive Development Program is designed for senior level leaders in vending, coffee service and foodservice, who are key decision-makers in areas of finance, marketing, operations and human resource management. The purpose of the program is to help leaders think like the CEO/owner and to move a company to the next level in the competitive marketplace. This year’s curriculum featured new sessions on micro markets and supply chain management.

“The EDP is a tremendous educational experience with exceptional content and world class educators,” said Shane Burleigh of Coca-Cola. “The value I will be bringing back to my organization will help further our business objectives and the development of my team.”

David Sale of G & J Marketing and Sales agreed. “The program was extremely comprehensive and relevant,” Sale said. “The pace is intense and it forces you to focus your talent. What a great growth opportunity.”
