South Dakota Ambulance Dispatcher Catches Vending Criminal

An on-duty ambulance dispatcher caught a man stealing coins from a local vending machine in Brandon, S.D., according to the Argus Leader. Jesse Duncan, the ambulance dispatcher, was watching video surveillance and noticed a man struggling with a vending machine outside. Duncan stopped the thief from stealing coins inside the machine, but the suspect escaped on foot. He was later apprehended by authorities. The vending thief destroyed the machine’s price display screen and forced open a lock. Damage to the machine is around $500. Full article.
