Small Washington Town Seeks To Raise Minimum Wage

Residents in SeaTac, Wash. will vote on Proposition 1, which would raise the minimum wage in the town from $9.19 an hour to $15.00 an hour, according to the New York Times. Union leaders believe the minimum wage hike would raise the economic status of many struggling families, yet opponents believe the bill would have short-term benefits but long-term consequences.
