Colorado Beverage Association Opposes Soda Tax Legislation

The Colorado Beverage Association, along with an advocacy group of business owners and local citizens, has been lobbying against the Colorado legislation “2A”, a proposed soda tax. If passed, the tax measure would place a one cent per fluid ounce tax on sugary beverages sold in Telluride, Colo., according to The Watch news. Revenues from the tax are estimated to be around $400,000 annually and would be used to fund scholarships and physical fitness programs. Full article.
