Washington Mayor Proposes Soda Tax Hike

Seattle, Wash. Mayor Mike McGinn has proposed a new tax on sugary drinks, including soda, in order to fund local parks, according to KOMO News. McGinn envisions a penny-per-ounce tax hike that would create an estimated $20 million each year that would go towards funding for parks and community centers.
