Google Wallet Updates App, Improves Loyalty Features

Sept. 18, 2013

Google released the newest version of its Google Wallet app for Android. Users of the mobile platform can send money on-the-go to anyone in the U.S. from a bank account or Google Wallet Balance. In addition, users will have access to loyalty cards via the Google Wallet app. Loyalty cards can be added to the new app by simply scanning the barcode or inputting the card number into the app.

In the new Google Wallet app for Android, users can also see all purchases made with Google Wallet in one place. If users have one of the 29 different near field communication (NFC) enabled devices, they can continue to tap and pay at hundreds of thousands of U.S. locations, while also using the new Wallet features. Online and mobile purchases are still available through a user’s Google Wallet account to pay on Google Play.
