Nevada Governor Vetoes Calorie Count Legislation

Nevada Gov. Brian Sandoval vetoed Assembly Bill 126, which would have required restaurant chains with 15 or more locations to post nutrition information, including calorie counts, according to Nation’s Restaurant News. The vetoed legislation was an attempt to go further than the federal menu-labeling mandate, which would have affected restaurants with more than 20 locations. The Governor felt the legislation was redundant and unnecessary. Full article.
