Inventure Foods Introduces TGI Fridays Extreme Heat Crunchy Fries, Jalapeno Poppers Snack Sticks

June 11, 2013

Inventure Foods, Inc. turns up the heat on the snack food category with the introduction of two new baked snacks under its licensed partnership with TGI FridaysSM. Extreme Heat Crunchy Fries and Jalapeno Poppers Snack Sticks add spice to the line of snacks inspired by the popular bar and casual dining restaurant menu.

Both snacks will begin to appear in stores and vending machines nationwide this summer. The Extreme Heat Crunchy Fries will be sold in 1.5, 2.5 and 4.5-ounce bags with suggested retail prices of $1, $1.99 and $2.49, respectively. Jalapeno Poppers Snack Sticks will be available in 1.25, 2.25 and 3.5-ounce bags with suggested retail prices of $1, $1.99 and $2.49, respectively.

Each flavor reflects a consumer demand to turn up the heat, a trend also seen in Fridays restaurants with the recent introduction of its Taste & Share menu, featuring bold flavors complimented by hand preparation and craveable sauces. Going beyond mildly hot jalapenos and chipotles, Extreme Heat Crunchy Fries are exactly as the name implies, extremely spicy. The crunchy fries provide the perfect treat for the daring, flavor-seeking snacker. Jalapeno Poppers Snack Sticks are baked to perfection, offering a light, crunchy snack option with the savory, yet spicy flare found in one of America's favorite appetizer items.

"It's been a pleasure witnessing the growth of the TGI Fridays snack line over the years," said Steve Sklar, senior vice president marketing for Phoenix-based Inventure Foods, Inc., in a prepared statement. "With the addition of these new snacks, we're not only offering the distinctive tastes consumers have grown to love from the brand, but we've rounded out the offerings by providing the extreme flavors consumers crave."
