Texas Senate Bans Sugary Drinks In School Vending Machines

The Texas Senate recently approved a bill prohibiting the sale of soft drinks in vending machines located in Texas elementary and middle-schools, according to the Statesman news. Only sweetener-free water, low-fat milk and 100 percent vegetable/fruit juice can be sold in school vending machines if the bill is passed by the Governor. The bill did not cover high school vending.
