NAMA announced it will offer the popular four-week webinar titled The Route to Building a Successful Driving Team beginning May 23. The Webinar is designed to provide operators with the knowledge required to hire and develop high-performing route drivers. Successive sessions will take place on the following three Thursdays and the seminar is priced for NAMA members at $199; for non-members at $449.

“As operators can attest, their route drivers are the face of their brand and overall business,” said Joann DeNardis, NAMA’s director of education/certification in a prepared statement. “The importance of the role of route driver is critical to delivering effective customer service.”

“With that in mind, we based this curriculum entirely on customized research and operator input focused on identifying, hiring and retaining top-level talent and developing low performers into high performers. In fact, more than 300 route drivers were surveyed to develop research in this series regarding broad-reaching issues including rules, regulations, scheduling preferences and work environment. We found that operators want specific, targeted information and this webinar delivers.”

Wendy Bryant, of Imperial Coffee and Food Service in Tulsa, Okla., said the series was invaluable to her, particularly given her recent promotion to a route management position. “I gained a wealth of knowledge that I think everybody would find valuable,” Bryant said. “As a result of the information and training in this series, my confidence level is up and so is my performance.”

The four-part series, featuring more than six hours of teaching, tools and support materials, includes a 14-page white paper based on the national survey of 300 drivers and a LinkedIn page to facilitate interaction between participants, instructors and top leaders in the industry. NAMA members will also receive a job posting template, an employment and career history application template, as well as an on-boarding and training checklist.

NAMA partnered with Win the Bigger Game, a talent management agency based in suburban Chicago, Ill., to produce the series. Win the Bigger Game specializes in assessing talent and using the knowledge gained to build highly productive teams.

Three experts from Win the Bigger Game will host the series. Each webinar is 60 to 75 minutes. Visit NAMA’s website, www.vending.org, to learn more and register.
