March 14, 2013

NAMA, the national association dedicated to vending and refreshment services, announced the promotion of LyNae Schleyer to vice president of meetings and events. In her new role, Schleyer is responsible for the strategic development of the annual OneShow and Coffee Tea and Water show, as well as guiding the support for regional and state meetings provided by the national association. She will also serve as a liaison to the association’s education programs, continuing her work in that arena.

“This well-deserved promotion is in recognition of LyNae’s nearly 20 years of valued contributions at NAMA, of her acumen in directing this key program area,” said Carla Balakgie, NAMA president and CEO in a prepared statement. “We join the many members and related organizations throughout vending and refreshment services who count on LyNae’s leadership. She was instrumental in the development of our industry’s largest trade show – the OneShow – and her involvement is a big reason for the event’s continued growth and success.”

“Now we look forward to broadening LyNae’s responsibilities to include all meetings and events at NAMA, further leveraging her talent and experience,” Balakgie continued.

LyNae began her career at NAMA as the manager of meeting services and has held positions of increased responsibility through the years. For 10 years, she held the position of director of education in addition to her role managing association expos and events. She holds degrees in education, theatre production and travel management from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa and MacCormac College in Chicago, Ill.
