Luna Launches Female-Centered Diet Webisodes

Feb. 11, 2013

LUNA®, the makers of the whole nutrition bar for women, launched the first in a series of six webisodes called “Debunking the Diet” to weigh in on current eating trends, and spark an ongoing and honest conversation with women about food and nutrition. The webisode series is kicking off a larger “Feed Your Strength” campaign that invites women to start making healthier food choices that nourish the body and mind, so they can discover their inner strength. With sound, relatable nutrition advice and tips from LUNA’s in-house nutritionist Tara DelloIacono Thies, the vignettes hosted by actress and comedian Erin Gibson tackle diet myths and nutrition misconceptions uncovered from humorous, women on-the-street conversations.

“LUNA wants to inspire women to trust their gut in their food choices, and be as proud of what they put into their bodies as what they put on them,” Rosa Compean, brand director for LUNA said in a prepared statement. “Women are bombarded with restrictive messages about what to eat and when to eat. LUNA is championing moderation, not deprivation – and hopes women can ditch the diet and trust themselves.”

The first “Debunking the Diet” webisode went live Feb. 8 and can be found on lunabar.com. New webisodes will continue to roll out every two weeks and focus on topics such as skipping meals, carbohydrate myths, eating after 8 p.m. and more. Women can join the conversation online by participating in the “Feed Your Strength” Webisode Facebook contest, which will offer participants a chance to win a year’s supply of LUNA bars, as well as a community forum to share what feeds their strength.
