Colorado School Uses Grant To Fund Healthy Vending Service

The Weld County School District 6 in Colorado launched a new snack vending program in early January using more than $157,000 in grant money from the Colorado Health Foundation, according to EdNews Colorado. The school used the grant to pay for 16 food vending machines, a vending delivery truck, the salary of a district vending employee for one year and marketing materials to promote the new program. Snacks offered in the new machines include baked chips, honey wheat pretzels, beef jerky, granola bars, trail mix and a variety of nuts and seeds.
