PepsiCo Removes Controversial 'Brominated Vegetable Oil' From Gatorade

PepsiCo Inc. is said to be removing brominated vegetable oil (BVO), a controversial ingredient suspected of causing medical issues, from its Gatorade sports drinks, according to the Associated Press. A company spokesperson said the decision was made after consumers started voicing concern over the ingredient. In Gatorade, BVO is used as an emulsifier to distribute flavoring evenly. Full article.
