Convenience Stores See Increase In Food Sales

Convenience stores have noticed sales from the fresh food segment have been increasing and they plan to capitalize on that growth, according to Bloomberg Businessweek. The Pantry has seen food sales go from 4.4 percent in 2008 to 10.4 percent. In 2012, 30 percent of Casey's revenue was from food sales and 7-Eleven has announced plans to increase food sales to 20 percent by 2015. Full article.
