Apriva will continue offering a discounted rate program to merchant acquirers and Independent Sales Organizations (ISOs) that serve Apriva Vend customers who deploy cashless vending technology. The rates, which are comparable to those before the enactment of the Durbin Amendment, are available immediately and cover payments made by Visa-branded credit, debit and pre-payment cards.
“We are extremely pleased that Apriva will continue to offer discounted rates to our partners that serve the vending industry,” said Rinaldo Spinella, Apriva’s executive vice president and general manager for unattended solutions, in a prepared statement. “While the concept of accepting card-based payments continues to gain traction in the vending sector, the stark reality is that a majority of operators are still in the process of evaluating the economics of accepting card-based payments. We expect that this discounted rate program will be a strong inducement for vending operators to implement the Apriva Vend solution into their businesses.”
This latest discounted rate program continues Apriva’s successful track record for bringing discounted rate programs into the vending space. As Spinella explains, this latest initiative will give operators the opportunity to leverage the multitude of benefits that cashless technology delivers.
“The overwhelming majority of vending operators that have deployed cashless solutions have reported a tremendous uptick in sales, along with lower operating costs and higher profits,” said Spinella. “In many instances, the addition of this technology has led to an increase in both cash and cashless sales. And when coupled with the other tangible benefits, such as reduced shrinkage, and fewer truck rolls and machine malfunctions due to tightly-coupled telemetry services, cashless technology makes complete sense for most operators.”
