Louisiana School Buys Vending Machines To Supplement Lunch Program

The Lafayette Parish School, in Lafayette, La., has purchased two vending machines which will dispense meals for students to supplement its lunch program, according to the Advocate. The high volume of students makes the logistics of the lunch period difficult and the school feels vending will entice students that would otherwise skip lunch. Students will pay with their ID numbers instead of cash, and the machines will be stocked with healthy items like fruit, salad and sandwiches. Full article.
