Apriva announced that Paul Coppinger, the company’s co-founder and president, will speak at the Social Mobile Payments: Americas Conference, scheduled for Nov. 6 to 8 at the Biscayne Bay Marriott in Miami, Fla. Coppinger’s presentation, “Paving the Road to Mobile Commerce From the Cloud,” will take place Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 11 a.m.
The Social Mobile Payments: Americas Conference brings together thought leaders, experts and innovators from the social media, mobile connectivity and payments sectors. The conference is designed to educate attendees on the growth potential that results from the triangulation of all three disciplines, and the impact that these solutions will have on the global economy.
In his remarks, Coppinger is expected to provide an assessment of the factors that are increasingly complex — and at times, competing — that are defining mobile commerce. Among the topics he’ll touch on include the ongoing debate of NFC versus cloud-based technology, and the need for providers to support traditional payment forms like credit and debit cards, as well as emerging payment forms such as proprietary payment credits and closed loop currencies.
