U.S. Consumer Confidence Nears Pre-Recession Levels

U.S. retailers can expect consumers to spend more money in the coming months due to an increase in consumer confidence, according to Bloomberg. In October, the Thomson Reuters/University of Michigan consumer sentiment index increased to 83.1, from 78 the month before. Before the recession, the index was 89. Full article.
