Tinley Park, Ill. Rejects Healthy Snack Requirement in Village Vending Machines

Tinley Park, Ill. will not go through with a plan proposed in August to offer healthier items in vending machines in village-owned buildings, according to The Herald-News. There was no money to retrofit machines to vend fresh fruit and other healthy snacks, so the proposal, which would have required 50 percent of beverages and 30 percent of food items to be low in fat and calories, was dropped.
