The Pantry Inc. Convenience Store Chain Partners With Vendgogh, LLC On Vending Machines At Fueling Stations In Southeast

Aug. 15, 2012

The Pantry, Inc., the leading independently operated convenience store chain in the southeastern U.S. operating primarily under the Kangaroo Express banner, is working with Vendgogh, LLC to pilot beverage vending at fuel islands in several Kangaroo Express stores in Raleigh, N.C. and Durham, N.C.

“This is another option we are testing to serve our on-the-go guests,” said John Fisher, senior vice president of marketing, merchandising and restaurant operations at The Pantry and Kangaroo Express in a prepared statement. “This option provides guests with a convenient alternative to purchasing beverages inside the store.”

Vendgogh’s vending systems are integrated with the Kangaroo Express point of sale system giving customers the opportunity to purchase fuel and cold drinks with a single swipe of their credit or debit cards without ever leaving the fuel island. Customers are prompted to add a beverage to their order during the fuel purchase process. Beverages are dispensed at the fuel island.

“We are looking forward to working with Kangaroo Express to connect with their fuel island customers,” said Larry McAnallen, Vendgogh vice president business development.
