VMW Blog: Nutrition Rules Hurt Short Term, But Ultimately Help Improve Vending’s Public Image

Elliot Maras, editor of Automatic Merchandiser, notes in his blog that in the six years since schools began removing soda from vending machines, schools have lost a considerable amount of funding while childhood obesity rates remain high. Maras notes that recent research indicates nutrition rules may be helping curb childhood obesity but more importantly, the change in offerings have contributed to a more positive public image of vending.
