Graduating Senior of Vending Repair Program Awarded Full Set Of Tools, Gene Mann Award

June 18, 2012

The A. Philip Randolph Career and Technical High School, in Philadelphia, Penn. and the vending industry have kept a longstanding tradition alive by awarding a complete set of tools to the vending senior of the year.

This tradition was born in the 1980s with a suggestion from Gene Mann, a longtime industry professional, whose name, upon his passing, now adorns the award.

This year's senior of the year is Jancarlos Rosario who has spent the past two summers working in the industry and is now working fulltime with Midlantic Vending in Moorestown, N.J.

Another tradition that continues with this award is that of a Rosario taking the prize. Jancarlos' older brother, Eric Rosario, won the award in 2005 and used the tools while working at Philadelphia Coca-Cola Bottling Co. to help pay his way through Wydner University.
