Cantaloupe Systems Launches Web-based Alternative To Vending Management System Software

Cantaloupe Systems announced the launch of Seed Office™, a cloud-hosted alternative to traditional vending management system (VMS) software. Vending operators now have the choice to integrate with their existing VMS using SeedSync™ or to use Seed Office instead. With Seed Office, Cantaloupe Systems’ Seed Platform™ delivers a fully integrated and comprehensive solution to manage a vending operation.

Seed Office is designed to make back-office work more efficient through easy-to-use automation of commissions reporting, sales tax reporting, warehouse inventory management, cash accountability, asset management, and more. Seed Office works on any device with a web browser, even iPads.

“Seed Platform is used in over 70,000 machines by hundreds of vending operators, many of whom encouraged us to build a VMS alternative that’s as easy to use as Seed Pro and Seed Cashless,” explained Justin Grant, director of product management of Cantaloupe Systems in a prepared statement. “The result was Seed Office: our easy-to-deploy and easy-to-use solution that works with Seed Pro and Seed Cashless to manage all vending activities from a single web browser.” 

Cantaloupe Systems will be promoting a “Free VMS” campaign at the NAMA OneShow in Las Vegas on April 25 to 27. All vending operators interested in applying for free access to Seed Office can register online at Selected vending operators will start having access to Seed Office from June 2012.

Cantaloupe Systems’ Seed Platform gives vending operators more pricing flexibility and additional sales opportunities by enabling cashless purchases and supporting mobile payment solutions such as Google Wallet and others as they come online.

The Seed Platform gathers data from machines wirelessly over the Internet, enabling optimized scheduling that delivers maximum route and merchandising efficiencies. By analyzing inventory levels, cash in the machine and geographic considerations, the Web-based application automatically generates efficient delivery schedules and pick lists based on real-time, item-level sales data. Warehouse personnel use this information to load orders for each machine, providing drivers with more time to focus on servicing their routes.

The platform also provides vending operators tools to reconcile daily cash collection and capture spoilage and inventory variances. SeedSync, a customizable integration tool that is part of the Seed Platform, integrates all collected data with our existing vending management software package, ensuring company-wide information integrity. If operators do not have a VMS or are looking for an alternative to the vending management software, they are now able to use Seed Office.
