Barbara Elkin, an attorney for the U.S. Department of Justice, explained the Americans with Disabilities Act which took effect on March 15, 2011, with compliance required 12 months thereafter, during a Webinar organized by The National Automatic Merchandising Association. The rules apply to state and local government entities as well as services provided by publicly funded schools, colleges and hospitals and government agencies.
