Kienna Coffee announced the appointment of Rod Thorgeirson as director of sales to the U.S. Based in Phoenix, Ariz., Thorgeirson will lead sales and marketing programs for retail and online distribution for the Kienna pod coffee program and their patented KiennaKUP Pod Adapter for Keurig® Brewers.
“We have seen remarkable interest in our pods and KiennaKup, which allows consumers to save 50 percent or more on their coffee if they own a Keurig®, so it was obvious to us we needed someone who has a passion for coffee as we have, to represent our products to the consumers in the USA,” said Leona Arnett, owner of Kienna Coffee in a prepared statement. “We have known Rod for more than twenty years and are happy to have him working with us again.”
Thorgeirson had worked with Arnett and her father, Dan Leach, in the 1990s in Calgary, Canada before he began his own coffee company in Phoenix. Recently, Thorgeirson sold his company to Filterfresh and was managing the Phoenix operations until they were acquired by Aramark.
Kienna Coffee has more than 20 offerings of coffee pods available as well as custom roasting for other businesses. The company currently offers products through Bed Bath and Beyond in Canada as well as Tweed & Hickory in eastern Canada. The company also carries a line of pod brewers called the SunCafe.
