Editor’s Insight: McDonald’s Corp. is not the first company to get blindsided by negative comments from a social media campaign. This does not mean that businesses should not use social media for marketing.

Social media is still a very new marketing tool. Vending and refreshment service operators should be grateful that other companies are doing the groundwork from which they can learn.
