Editors’ Insight: Oregon vending and refreshment service operators have a big battle on their hands. Based on this report, the soda tax proponents are well organized.

The refreshment services industry has to network with other interested parties to support a public relations campaign to oppose this tax. Taxpayers are not in a mood for higher taxes. The food and beverage industries will have the public on their side if they state their case clearly.
