Editor’s Insight: Since the Mint claims it has 1.4 billion dollar coins sitting its vault, the vending industry can rest assured that coins will be available to meet their needs.

As time progresses and vending price points rise, vending operators will continue to find dollar coins useful. At the same time, operators will find bill recyclers and card readers increasingly useful.

Elimination of the dollar bill has been a long-time goal for the vending industry, but Congressional opposition was too strong.
