The School District of Philadelphia has relocated the Vending Machine Repair Program to Randolph Technical High School, 3101 Henry Ave. Philadelphia, Pa., according to Jim Clark, program instructor.

This move was transpired due to the Delaware Valley vending industry’s concern for competent graduates that can be hired into the industry.

The space for the vending shop has undergone a major upgrade and face lift to accommodate the program and work is nearing completion.

While three students have followed the program from Edison, the school year has started with a new group of students who are not quite sure what vending is all about, but have shown a lot of interest.

This school year starts the 23rd year the industry has had a resource for trained, entry level employees, and the success of the program has always being based in the strong vending industry support and guidance provided by the advisory committee.

The next advisory board meeting will be Oct. 20, 2011 at 3 p.m.
