Apriva, a provider of end-to-end wireless transaction and secure information solutions, today announced that Paul DeRosse, its vice president of business development for Canada, has been recognized by ACT Canada with its Hero of 2011 award. Canada’s internationally-recognized authority for payments and identity security, ACT Canada is a non-profit association dedicated to working with key stakeholders, addressing business and technology matters to enable profitability and competitive advantage for its members.
ACT Hero Award winners are considered for their individual contributions to supporting and furthering the work of the association.
“These awards are voted on by the staff of ACT Canada in acknowledgement of people who extend their support to make us better at what we do,” said Catherine Johnston, president and chief executive officer of ACT Canada in a prepared statement. “Paul has provided leadership and support of collaborative forums to help grow the payments market, and delivered invaluable support in the ongoing rollout of EMV (Europay, MasterCard, Visa) throughout Canada.”
“We are extremely proud of Paul’s contributions to ACT Canada, and we are grateful for ACT Canada’s continuous efforts to advance the payments industry within Canada,” said Paul Coppinger, Apriva president. “Apriva’s ongoing support of industry associations such as ACT Canada helps ensure that the entire payment ecosystem, including merchants, consumers and financial institutions, benefits from secure and efficient transaction processing.”
